At 8am, a Client Asked for a Birkin. By Dinner, It Was in His Hands.
What genuine ACCESS actually looks like.
I want to tell you a story.
Not because it is the most dramatic thing that has happened at TPO. But because it captures something about what we are building here that I find genuinely difficult to articulate any other way.
A client called at 8am.
He wanted a Birkin. Not eventually. Not when one became available. That day.
By dinner, it was in his hands.
I am not going to pretend that it’s a normal phone call. It isn’t. But it is the kind of phone call that is entirely normal within the world that Rebecca and the TPO partnership programme have spent the last two years building.
And it made me think about what ACCESS actually means. Not as a concept. Not as a product. But in practice, in real life, at the moment a client needs something that most people would consider impossible.
Why Access Matters More Than People Realise
There is a version of luxury that is available to anyone with a budget.
The finest hotels. The best restaurants. The most beautiful properties.
These things are exceptional. And they are, broadly speaking, accessible to those who can afford them.
But there is another version of luxury that operates entirely differently.
It isn’t defined by price. It is defined by relationships. By trust built over years. By knowing exactly who to call and having that call answered.
This is the world that truly separates the exceptional from the merely expensive.
A Birkin is one of the most coveted luxury objects in the world. Not simply because of what it is, but because of how difficult it is to acquire. Waitlists that stretch for years. Relationships with specific sales associates that take decades to cultivate. A world where having the money is entirely beside the point.
Unless you know the right person.
Rebecca knows the right people.
That is not an accident. It is the result of years of quietly, carefully, deliberately building relationships across every area of life that matters to our clients. Fashion. Art. Hospitality. Events. Travel. Lifestyle. Security. Every corner of the world that a TPO client might ever need access to.
What ACCESS Was Built For
When I founded TPO, I knew from the beginning that property was the foundation but not the whole picture.
Our clients don’t compartmentalise their lives. They don’t want a property person and a travel person and a lifestyle person operating independently in separate corners of their world.
They want people they trust. People who understand them. People who can be relied upon to handle things properly, whatever those things happen to be.
ACCESS was built for exactly that.
Not as a concierge service in the conventional sense. Not a directory of recommended suppliers or a list of partner discounts.
A genuinely curated network of relationships that can deliver results that most people wouldn’t believe were possible.
The Birkin at 8am. The table at the restaurant that has been fully booked for six months. The tickets to the event that sold out in minutes. The introduction that opens a door that has been closed for years. The property that was never listed, secured before anyone else knew it existed.
These are not exceptional moments for ACCESS.
They are exactly what it was designed to deliver.
The Relationship Behind The Result
I want to be clear about something.
None of this works without trust.
The relationships that make ACCESS possible have been built over years, in some cases over decades. They exist because Rebecca, and the wider TPO team, have consistently shown up, delivered on their word and treated every interaction as the beginning of a long term relationship rather than a transaction.
That is how you earn the kind of access that means a Birkin can be in someone’s hands by dinner.
It is also why ACCESS is not available to everyone.
It exists for clients who share our values. Who understand that the finest things in life are built on relationships rather than transactions. And who appreciate the difference between having access to a service and having access to people who genuinely care about the outcome.
Why This Matters To TPO
Property will always be the heart of what we do.
But the clients we work with at this level expect more than exceptional property advice. They expect exceptional everything.
And increasingly, the thing that sets TPO apart is not simply the homes we represent or the deals we complete.
It is the world we have built around those homes.
The network. The relationships. The ability to pick up the phone at 8am and deliver something by dinner that most people would consider impossible.
That is ACCESS.
And we are only just beginning to show what it can do.
